Fundraiser - Wales Mother & Baby Unit Uned Gobaith

The last Mother & Baby Unit in Wales closed in 2013, it has taken many years of meetings and campaigning for the new Unit to open on 19th April 2021.

Mother and baby units help Mothers suffering from mental illnesses recover, it lets them be cared for in the same building as their baby, since 2013 some Mothers were travelling miles to get this sort of care. This often meant mothers or families refused places at units far away as the distance can put a massive strain on families both emotionally and financially with travel and so on. 

The unit at Uned Gobaith has six beds, we have started this campaign as we have suffered from mental health issues after the birth of out babies ourselves and know how important these facilities are to the whole family.

This fundraiser hopes to raise additional funds to provide baby sensory room equipment, toys, bean bags, activity equipment, books, things for the garden. We will be working with the staff of the unit to see which items are most beneficial.

All funds raised will go towards purchasing items to be given to the unit

We are hoping to start donating items within the next few months.
