Fundraiser for Uniting Disabled Individuals

Dear Supporter

I have received overwhelming support for a recent Facebook post that I made which featured the plight of Black Autistic People within the Black Lives Matter Context especially throught the experience of my brother. 

Many people have asked how they can support me and my community so I decided to set up this fundraiser for Uniting Disabled Individuals, Inc. (UDI) 

UDI is a non-profit organization based in Queens, NY which was founded by Marieta Austin. She provides so much information about benefits, programs, and services that are reserved for people with disabilities. Being the parent of someone with a disability especially in my community, there is a lack of information and resources to take care of your loved one. Marieta provides information to families in English and Spanish as a one-woman team. 

In addition, she hosts a monthly support group for disabled individuals in her home, where she teaches young people about self advocacy and knowing their rights. 

I am so happy that Marieta has been in my life especially my brother's life.

She does most of the fundraising by herself and does not get as much support for the work she does to support my community of South- East Queens. If you want to support, the cause- please donate!
