Fundraiser for New Friends Homeless Center

Hi everyone! Our names are Arcadia and Maya, and we are volunteers at the New Friends Homeless Center. As most of you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has made the lives of those that are homeless even harder than they already are. Massive job losses caused by the pandemic leave thousands of people without money to put a roof over their heads and food on the table. We are asking for your donation to help support the New Friends Homeless Center’s goal of building a shelter to home some of those in the San Fernando Valley that are experiencing homelessness. 

The New Friends Homeless Center is an organization that is managed by Pastor April, a compassionate woman who has dedicated over 10 years of her life to providing meals and survival supplies to those that are experiencing homelessness. The New Friends Homeless Center has given those that have lost so much the chance to come together and feel a sense of community while eating a warm, homecooked meal. Through donations from our volunteers, we can provide our guests with 4-course meals, warm clothing, blankets, gloves, beanies, sleeping bags, tents, feminine hygiene products, and more. 

However, providing survival items and serving meals three times a week does not suffice when our guests are still living on the street and have no sense of community. Our local homeless need a safe place to stay, and Pastor April is dedicated to building a New Friends Homeless Shelter to provide those suffering with shelter, daily meals, hygiene, and rehabilitation. Our guests are good people with hearts of gold, and it breaks our heart that they live on the street. We are asking for your donations to help build a New Friends Homeless Shelter so that one day, our guests don’t have to ask for a to-go box as they leave the center to go back to their spot on the street.
