Fundraiser for Michael's girls

Hello family, friends and loved ones from Billerica and beyond. My name is Lauren Pestana; I am writing because my cousin Michael Spinale passed away this week. As you know, Michael was taken from us far too soon. We will all miss him dearly, but no one more than his daughters Giovanna and Emery.

Michael was my little cousin, who always had a smile and a big hug for me. He never missed a family party and was always grateful to see everyone. He loved our holiday meals. I knew if Michael was coming to add a few extra peppers to the antipasto and an extra pound of pasta to the pot. He was always good for a Wiffle ball game in the front yard. And my kids knew when cousin Mike showed up; they were getting the second-best baseball player in the family. Short of his Dad, my Uncle Jimmy.

He loved his family and had a quiet way of reminding us. He was my Aunt Linda's and Uncle Jimmy's youngest child. His parents have supported him through many ups and downs in his life. They are a shining example of a parent's love for a child. He had three sisters to drive crazy when he was growing up, and man, he drove them crazy. He always turned to his sister Kristy for advice and guidance. In the last few weeks of his life, she was his constant support. Michael loved cheering his sister Tracy on. She made him smile as no one else could. He was a proud brother when she won her many Special Olympic medals in bowling. He loved his sister Lindsey in so many ways. And like me, he loved her baking. He and I had a shared secret of stashing some of her holiday cookies where we didn't have to share with the rest of our crazy Italian family!

He was a fierce baseball player, a loyal friend, a nephew, a cousin, a spicy food lover, and a Boston sports fan. Most importantly, Michael was a father. Michael's greatest accomplishment in life was his two beautiful daughters, Giovanna and Emery. They were the light of his life and a gift to our family. The girls have the best mother in Lauren. We are so grateful to Michael for bringing Lauren into our family. She has given Michael so much love and support, which we are all thankful for. I am heartbroken for Lauren as she looks to raising her daughters without Michael.

We ask you to extend your love and support for these two precious girls. Please honor Michael and our family and consider donating to support Giovanna and Emery.
