Fundraiser for Melinda and George Wood

Donation protected
On August 19, 2016, Christine hugged her parents and went out for the evening.  She never returned.  Her Mother Melinda Wood and Father George Wood mounted an urban ground search in Winnipeg with family, community members and the Winnipeg Police Service.

Every hope that she would return to her family and community in Oxford House was dashed on June 3, 2017, almost 10 months after her disappearance when her remains were recovered in a ditch in the R.M. of Springfield.

The man charged with second degree murder will go to trial in Winnipeg Law Courts.  The trial is set for April 30, 2019  and it is anticipated that it will last 4 weeks.

Her family will travel in from Oxford House a remote isolated community in northern Manitoba to be in the Court House.   In addition to the great emotion and mental drain on her family, there will also be significant financial burdens for Melinda, George and their supports.   This will mean weeks of lost wages, cost of travel which includes airfare, accommodation and meals.

As their journey has been very heartbreaking as a community we wanted to support the family during the trial proceedings.

To this end, we would like to raise 10 thousand dollars.  Anything that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.
