Fundraiser for Afghanistan Refugee

Hello! We are a small group of students currently enrolled at the University of Hartford, taking a class about immigration. Recently in class, we learned about Afghani refugees and we decided to help. We have decided to come up with a GoFundMe to help one refugee who is now living in the US.

With the events currently happening in Afghanistan, we have all become very aware that these refugees need our help, and we need yours. A student-run group at the University of Hartford has decided to help one Afghani woman who left Afghanistan alone, with no family and very little belongings. She has resettled in the greater Hartford area and has been able to get some necessities, but there is much more needed to help this courageous, resilient woman adapt to life in the U.S. We have set a goal of $300 in order to help with food, clothing, and other basic expenses. We hope you will help us to support this woman’s journey to a better life. (Donations will be going through Golden Door: A Center for Immigrants. Golden Door is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bolster, assist, and learn from immigrants as they strive towards happiness and success in this country.)
