Fund Nana's Medical Transport to NY

Beschermde donatie
Hello Family, Friends, and Community,

On November 7th 2023 our Mother Angela P. Williams (A.K.A Nana) unfortunately suffered a brain aneurysm while on cruise at port in St. Thomas with a few of her church sisters. She needed to be air evacuated to Miami since it was the nearest hospital that could treat her. The doctors preformed a craniotomy, and was able to get her back to a place where she was able to speak in December.

In late December her Dr. suggested her stay in Miami at Azzure Rehab to gain strength, and be able to stay close to him since he preformed the craniotomy. If there were any complications he would know what to do. She was also not cleared to fly due to pressure on brain, and the drive was too long in her condition per Neuro Dr. Our mother was asking for us to get her home, and complained about her treatment in rehab. We visited her as often and possible and called her daily but we know this was not enough contact for her to get back to the Mother we know and love.

In January 2024 we started the process to get her discharged with medical advise, and had to wait on 2 different appointments to get her cleared to travel. About 2 weeks before her last appointment our mother was admitted into 2 different hospitals a week apart for falling, and other complications.

In February we started to notice a decline, and made several calls of concern to Dr. and head nurse at rehab. This translates to her being admitted into another hospital, with acute kidney failure, being unable to speak, needing a feeding tube, and other complications (ICU).

In April our mother was strong and started saying a few faint words to us but due to the unnoticed strokes while in Rehab she is not as mobile and unable to speak as she did in December. She was then discharged from hospital again to gain strength to travel at a different rehab that accommodated her now needed bed side dialysis, and would also provide all therapies needed. She was able to tell us she loved us, and requested us to come visit which we did but we know it wasn't enough.

In May yet again there was another decline, and she is now not speaking at all, and has been hospitalized with other complications.

Currently she is ready to be discharged from hospital, not speaking but is stable and ready to go into another rehab but we refuse to allow her to stay in Miami any longer. We received a quote from ACC Medlink which has been approved to provide transportation. The transportation plan is for her to be discharged directly to a New York sub-acute facility accompanied by one family member within the next few weeks. She will be in a bed during transport, with oxygen, and accompanied medical staff from Miami to New York journey.

Our Mother (Nana) has been accepted in a facility less than 5 minutes from our home which is a true blessing. Her being in a rehab close enough to receive daily visits from family & friends will assist in her speedy recovery (Medically Advised).

Any contribution will be appreciated, and all funds will go towards private medical transportation cost (insurance doesn't cover out of state transportation cost). Please keep our Mother (Nana) in your prays for safe travels, and a quick recovery.❤️‍
