Fund My Sophomore Album

Hey everyone. My name is Taylor Burlage, I am a songwriter and musician out of Bozeman, Montana and it's time to head back to the studio and get some new songs out into the world. About this time last year, so many of you pitched in to help me record my first full length album and your generosity was mind-blowing. I cannot thank you all enough. For those of you just finding me, I would love more than anything for you to listen to that first album and get a feel for what it is that I do. You can do that HERE . I'm immensely proud of it and I have grown so much from the experience.

So here's what I've got going on with this next album.

Music is sort of a funny thing in that it is constantly changing (if you're doing it right). At least for me it's hard to play a song the same way over and over again in the same way. So what I have for this album in terms of demos is just a starting point, but this time around its going to be a bit more involved. Drums, keys, electric bass, and whatever the heck else feels right. If you want to get a feel for some of my sonic inspiration for this album, I've made a Spotify playlist of stuff that I feel is in the direction I want to go. You can listen to it HERE!

I also want to share a demo with you all. The song is called "Honey in my Coffee" and it's a song about hope and the future and the comfort of small familiar things that happen day to day. And now we get to the less fun part that is also possibly the most important part. Money. As an independent artist, all of the support that I get comes directly from you. Listeners, fans, friends, and family. It's one of the more personal trade-offs in this business. At the end of the day, what I am asking for isn't astronomical, but it certainly isn't a small amount either. Nevertheless the impact that any sort of support for this project has on me is profound. It tells me that maybe, just maybe I am doing something right and the art I am making is worthwhile. All of the money that I raise here is going directly into recording for 5 days and anything leftover will go directly into promotion of this album. I would love someday to get to the point where I don't need to ask for your support, but until then, thank you all for being here. It makes the work easier and I hope that it also gives you a sense of ownership over these songs. You should because you are going to be a part of it just by helping make it happen.
