Fund Justin's Historic Summer at Oxford

Hey! My name is Justin Tharpe and I am a senior at the University of Alabama. This summer I am attending a study abroad program with the history department of UA where we will spend the month of July living and studying at Worcester College which is a part the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. This trip is a dream for me because once I graduate I plan to enroll in a master's program where I will research British history in particular. This trip would provide me the opportunity to take courses on British history where the events happened along with using the primary resources provided by the vast collections of the Bodleian library at Oxford.

Now to the point of this gofundme which is that in order to make this trip happen I need some help. The program has cost me and my family almost $10,000. Through financial aid, we have been able to pay for the tuition and travel expenses of the trip, but that financial aid also has to cover my living expenses for the month of July while I am in the UK as well my living expenses throughout the rest of the summer. With my remaining financial aid, I have two options. First, if I keep the money set aside for my rent here in the states then I will have no money for food, travel, or other expenses for the month that I am in England. If I spend the remaining aid on my expenses in England than I will be unable to pay my rent for July and August.

As I stated previously, this whole trip has cost my family and I almost $10,000. I am looking to raise $5,000 to cover my rent here in the U.S. for the summer, my living expenses while I am in the UK, as well as some other school and personal expenses that have arisen because of paying for this trip.
