My name is Samantha Eckerman and this GoFundMe was created for my sister-in-law's family. My sister-in-law, Heather Eckerman, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in June of 2023. She was a single mother of three and fought a hard fight against her battle with cancer. Unfortunately, she passed on November 15, 2025. 

For those that don’t know, we recently learned something that has added even more weight to an already heartbreaking time. When Heather was placed on long-term disability, her employment ended — and with that, her life insurance was also lost. Because of this, we now face an immediate financial need to cover her funeral and burial expenses. 

This GoFundMe has been created to help with those urgent costs, as well as to support her three children — Tyler, PJ, and Harleigh — in the days and years ahead. Many of you have asked how you can help, and any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
