Fund Clay Russell's Emergency Care Costs

Donation protected
While dirt biking with friends in Hawaii on Friday, Clay Russell got into a serious accident. He hit a rock wall, causing internal bleeding in his abdomen. He was knocked unconscious and stopped breathing, his friends had to preform CPR to save his life. Clay has already had multiple abdominal surgeries and has been life-flighted to O’ahu from the Big Island to receive emergency care. His parents were traveling at the time and this GoFundMe is to help cover the expensive hospital bills, hotels, airlines and recovery costs. Anything that you can donate would be much appreciated. Don’t forget to Pray!

UPDATE - 6pm 6/29
Clay is now stable, The doctors are surprised with his progress, praise the Lord! Further surgeries will be today or tomorrow

UPDATE - 9pm 6/29
Clay’s spine is clear for no injury, but he has a low grade fever. There’s a chance of infection. He is scheduled for surgery tomorrow at 4pm, please keep him in your prayers, thank you all so much for the support and donations.

UPDATE - 12pm 6/30
Surgery was moved to 2pm today, please continue to keep Clay in your prayers. He is scheduled to get off the ventilator soon. His fever is at 101.5, and is on antibiotics, the packing in his gut could be the cause of that.

UPDATE - 2am 7/1
Clay is out of surgery finally, it kept getting delayed later from the original time of 2pm. The surgery went well. They reinforced the laceration of his stomach. They are concerned about risk of infection moving forward and possible abscesses as he had a lot of inflammation from the stomach laceration so that’ll have to be watched carefully. He is still intubated and they won’t consider extubation until tomorrow, and his pain is managed. Haven’t really been able to see him just a brief glance but he is stable. He has a feeding tube now to give him nutrition until he can tolerate foods in his stomach after it heals for a few days. Surgeon says that he will be in the hospital for at least a week if everything goes perfectly. He is able to move is hands, and nod his head. He has been writing little notes which is encouraging. Thank you everyone so so much for the support, your generosity is amazing. God is good!

UPDATE - 7/1
Clay is now extubated, had his first words, is standing up, and now walking around a little bit. Clay’s spine was clear for injury so he finally got his C-collar removed. He also started doing PT, and sat upright in a chair for over an hour.

UPDATE - 7/2
The Russell family is overwhelmed with gratitude for all the prayers, love, and support. Any amount received over what is needed will be put in a fund for Clay to use as needed on this healing journey.
All glory to God! Further updates will be from this link about Clay’s story:
