Fund Bruce’s Leg Surgery

Here’s Angie, Bruce’s owner:

One week ago, Bruce ( a 1 year old cattle dog rescue) jumped off a play structure and fractured his tibial bone mid shaft. Initially the vet tried to splint the bone with a cast, but on follow up a week later, X-rays showed the break had widened and was getting worse. Bruce has been in a lot of pain the past week, so at this point our only option is surgery to repair his fractured bone with metal plates, a rod, and pins. After calling many surgery centers, we found one that could see him immediately. The surgeon has let us know he will need to be crated for 8 weeks. With pre-surgery consults, surgery and follow up appts to make sure the bone is healing the cost for all of this will be just over $8000.

 

We've been struggling through the 18+ months of Covid like so many, but this cost feels so huge and impossible.

 

Bruce is a rambunctious pup , so our family will be in for two long months helping him recover and keeping him crated and safe while his bone mends, while we are also working full-time and parenting during a pandemic.
