My Tanzania Expedition
Spende geschützt
What is this all about?
I am going on a trip to Tanzania in summer 2026 with my school. We'll spend one week working with the local community, building classrooms, refurbishing buildings, and helping with water systems. Then, we'll spend a week doing environmental work, such as tree planting.
Why do I want to go on this trip?
- I have a deep passion for animals and care about their ecosystems.
- I'm really excited to see Tanzania's stunning waterfalls and tropical rainforests.
- I believe this will be an unforgettable experience.
- I'm very interested in science and zoology, and the opportunity to go on safari will broaden my knowledge.
- I'm concerned about climate change and its impact on the Global South, and I want to see how communities are affected.
- The scuba expedition will open my eyes to marine ecosystems I wouldn't otherwise be able to experience.
How am I going to achieve this?
I need to raise over £5,000, which feels like an unimaginable amount to me. Your support will directly contribute to these projects as well as my own experience.
I plan to fundraise in several ways. One idea I have is to organise a film festival themed around the ocean, where people can buy tickets, and I will create merchandise and more. I also plan to seek corporate sponsorship. If you work for a company that could support me and would like to have your logo on my t-shirts, please get in touch. Additionally, I will be organising various themed fundraising activities, such as events for World Turtle Day on 23rd May.
A bit about me
I’m Talitha, or Li, a Year 9 student at Penair School in Truro. I’ve just chosen my GCSEs and am especially excited to start my Music GCSE and Triple Science. I love music, particularly classical strings, and have been playing the violin for years. I am so excited about this trip and hope it will be a memory I cherish for a lifetime. I also think it may influence my further education or even my future career.
