FSC Campus Cats Support Fund
The chaos of COVID-19 has caused schools around the country to close their doors, instead holding classes online. More events are being cancelled each day as the race to contain the virus continues.
The cats of Florida Southern College are in desperate need of help. Each year, the FSC Campus Cat Club hosts a massive tag sale in which thousands of items are donated to be sold to benefit the cats. It is the most important fundraiser done annually, as the money is what we rely on to cover feeding and medical costs through the summer.
This year is more critical than usual, as the cats are having their vaccinations updated which will add an additional $500 on top of our normal expenses. Whether it's $1, $5, $10 or more, anything will be greatly appreciated. We rely on every penny to continue keeping our college cats fed, healthy and happy.
About the Cats:
Florida Southern College is home to a spayed, neutered and vaccinated colony of 30 campus cats. The cats were spayed/neutered/vaccinated through a process called TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) The FSC cats are fed everyday, rain or shine, and provided with monthly flea treatments, in addition to being given medical attention whenever it is needed. No new kittens have been born on campus since May 2014.
The Cat Care Team goes through nearly 150 cans of wet food a week to feed all of the cats in addition to many pounds of dry food. Between food, supplies and vet bills, caring for the college kitties is an extremely expensive task. Learn more at www.facebook.com/catsatfsc
