Hi Maya and Leo here :) We are raising funds to give three rescued street dogs from Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, a second chance at life.

Wolfi’s story:

We found Wolfi in San Marcos La Laguna when he was 3 months old. He was in a heartbreaking condition, covered in parasites, extremely underweight, wounded and very scared of humans.

It took time, patience and care to gain his trust, but eventually we were able to bring him to our home to care for him. He is now just about a year old and has found his joy again!

The puppies’ story:

The first puppy was found in Tzununa La Laguna, wandering completely alone in the middle of the night, in the rain. A tourist in the area saw him and couldn’t believe that such a tiny puppy was out alone so he brought him to us. He was incredibly cold and bitten raw by fleas, but he was alive and strong, despite being so small!

After removing all parasites and fleas and giving him proper care, he recovered incredibly fast, within just one week he almost doubled his weight.

About two weeks later, by pure coincidence, we saw another puppy at a local shelter who looked exactly like him. It turned out they are brothers. We couldn’t leave him behind.

We tried our best to find loving homes for them here in Guatemala, but unfortunately everyone was at capacity. Now we have the chance to bring all three of them to loving homes in Canada and Germany, but we cannot do it alone.

What the donations will cover:

• Flights and travel cost for the dogs to Canada and Germany

• Veterinary care (vaccinations, anti-parasite treatments, health checks)

• Preparation for international entry (official documents and export papers)

• Transport boxes and travel equipment
 • Transport boxes and travel equipment

Every step is essential to give them a safe and legal journey to their new lives. Any extra funds raised will be donated to the local dog shelter or used to help the next rescue dogs in their journey.
