I’m Benjamin Garcia and I’m a member of the San Antonio Police Pipe and Drum band; since I joined I have had the harrowing honor to perform at many police funerals. The look of despair and emotional distress that I’ve seen in the families and loved ones of these fallen heroes has moved me deeply. It was this July that I became aware of the South Texas Chapter of an organization named the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) that provides support for those families to cope with the loss of a loved one and assists them to rebuild and put the pieces of their lives back together.

I have decided to embark in a solo run from the Alamo in San Antonio, TX to San Juan, TX , a town in the Rio Grande Valley. The run is approximately 262.5 miles and will take me about four days to accomplish. I will be starting at 1500 hours on the 15th of December and ending on the 19th of December 2020.

This account will remain open several days after the completion of the run and all proceeds will be donated to C.O.P.S.
