From Six Feet Away

In most crisis situations, we often come to realize what (who) truly matters.

On Sunday, April 12 I took my camera, stood in my back yard and snapped a self-portrait of me with my mask on.  I then posted that picture on one of our community wide fb groups with a little encouragement to letting people know they are not alone even though it might feel that way. I went on to explain how I wanted to do something that would document this moment in history and help others tell their stories about how the Covid-19 Pandemic has impacted their lives.

To my surprise, in a matter of couple of hours I had hundreds of request to participate and tell their stories.

In less than a week, I've had several of the local news networks reaching out to me for an interview and I have even been in contact with the Mayor for a photo as well!

Everyday the request continues to grow and everyday I go out with my mask and my camera and take pictures (at a distance) of those who want to participate and share their story. (pictures below).

I need your help!  Will you please consider donating to this project/cause.  I believe this is a pivotal moment in history that we will all look back on.  Maybe our great grandkids will think it is weird that we use to hug each other (I hope not)!

I am raising money for two things:

1.  This project has been a great undertaking and in order to complete it I need to cover my expenses.

2.  I would also like to help families in need with groceries or gift cards to their local grocery store.

If there is one thing we can learn from  "social distancing" is that people need each other.  We all desire to have meaningful connections and that only takes place when we are seen, heard, and valued.

This story is about connection.  Will you please partner with me in this endeavor?
