Water tanks for Delena School Papua New Guinea

 Delena school is on the coast of central Papua New Guinea. The teachers who live on site rely on tanks and a spring for their water. Children have no water to use at school so must carry it from the village. The tanks run empty in the dry season and then the school relies on a natural spring on the beach to help supply water or a village well, both of which are a long walk from the school. (see pic). I was astonished to discover that this is not uncommon in PNG, where more than half the population doesn't have access to clean water. The aim is to purchase and install two new 9000l water tanks to help them get through the year without running out of water. My hope is that water is available for children to use for washing and drinking at school. I am a school teacher in Melbourne, and all of my students have easy and unlimited access to clean running water for drinking after play,  washing hands,  flushing the toilet and even for swimming classes! What we take for granted here in Australia, is sadly a distant dream for children and schools of our closest geographical neighbour, Papua New Guinea.  I have already raised funds to help install water tanks in another Mekeo village and have seen first-hand how it can transform life for the families using them.  They no longer need to make long trips to collect water and are not forced to use dirty and even poisoned water during the dry season. This  reduces the incidence of water-borne diseases and frees up time for other important tasks. Please help me to bring reliable and clean water to Delena School so that the children and their teachers can focus on learning in a healthy and sustainable manner.  The pictures below show: 1.
