Save My Mother
My mother is one of the strongest, most compassionate, and giving people I've ever met. She deserves happiness in her life, and with your help I can finally give that to her. My father abandoned her & my two younger siblings in 1999. He dragged her to court dozens of times over the last 18 years. He even had her arrested once, but she was released the next day. Her house is falling apart around her (literally, the patio roof caved in just this year), and yet she stays strong.
She makes the best of her situation, & even uses what little money she has (SSI doesn't pay much) to rescue stray cats and help them find homes. My father refuses to pay her the court ordered alimony he was ordered to start paying in 2004. As of now he owes her almost $100,000 in back spousal support. If I can get her a good lawyer (her legal aid lawyer has never helped her) I know she can get that money she's owed. Then she will no longer be living under the thumb of that cheating, lying, and mentally/emotionally abusive monster. Since it will take a while for the lawyer to do their job I need to make sure she is being cared for in the meantime.
The first $2,000-$6,000 will secure her a lawyer that will actually help her by going after my father for the court order violations of which he is guilty. That includes the court ordered alimony he has refused to pay. This lawyer will help in the biggest way so this amount is the most important that we need to raise. The next $12,000 will be used to pay off the remainder of the mortgage on the house. This will allow my mother to take full ownership of the home, and finally remove my father's name from the loan paperwork. Every penny after will go toward making repairs on the house.
I'm not talking about remodeling her home. I'm talking about fixing what's broken, and nothing more. Some items will have to be replaced, but everything that can be repaired will be repaired only. I plan to use recycled materials in any and all ways possible, to repurpose any/all items that can be repurposed. I do not want to spend a penny on anything that isn't a necessity. I also don't want to spend money that isn't needed.
If we raise the full amount and end up not needing all of it to accomplish the goals above any remainder will be donated to the RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) organization. This group helps victims of sexual assault get their lives back, and get the help they need. I will be documenting the progress of fixing the house, and providing proof that the money is going where I said it would go, and nowhere else.
Please help me give my mother the happiness she so richly deserves in this life. I think one of the best Christmas presents I can give my mom is the sight of my father being handcuffed by deputies, and escorted off to jail.
