Free Krystal Clark and Support her Family
Spende geschützt
Krystal Clark was wrongfully convicted in 2011 and has been locked up in Women's Huron Valley Prison in Ypsilanti for nearly 15 years. WHV is Michigan's only women's prison and it is riddled with mold. The mold is causing acute and long term health issues for everyone held captive there, as well as all those who work there. For Krystal, however, the health affects are more severe because she has a documented allergy to mold. For years she has been speaking up about the conditions in the prison and the health impacts it's having on her, including swelling throughout her body, partial facial paralysis and black mold growing in her ears and nose. Despite clear medical documentation of her life-threatening condition, Krystal continues to be denied proper treatment, medical clemency, and parole—placing her life at constant risk.
Krystal is a mother of four and a grandmother of four. Her mother has had to raise Krystal's children for the last fifteen years with no help that they should have received from the state. They live out of state and Krystal's incarceration is a large financial burden on them in order to pay for lawyers and travel to see her, on top of the constant expense of phone calls, jpays and video visits. The carceral system makes having an loved one who's incarcerated extremely expensive. Krystal always takes care of her loved ones before taking care of herself, so she has asked us to set up this fundraiser in order to support her mother, children and grandchildren. Please join us is helping Krystal to take care of her family.
