Please help my family raise money for my defense fund. Carlos has been incarcerated for 16 years, for crimes that he did not commit. Carlos is not without faults but he is INNOCENT. Most African American men are guilty until proven innocent in our society. Our justice system scales are imbalanced convicting the innocent and those who can not afford experienced legal representation.
The victim stated in a statement that he never saw or meet Carlos ever in his life. The victim was absent during the jury trial so Carlos was never able to face his accuser nor was he ever picked out in a police line up by the victim during the investigation. Also there were several eye witness statements that went ignored and they never made it to the witness stand during the trial.
Carlos lost his appeal and we need to hire a new legal team. Your contribution will help us continue to fight the costly legal battle of exonerating Carlos and getting him home.
Carlos has taken advantage of the many self-help and educational opportunities available to him while incarcerated and has grown into a responsible trustworthy man. Carlos remains hopeful for his freedom and is determined to prove his innocence exhausting every avenue within his power to ensure his freedom with his family behind him.
