Freddie’s Healing Fund

I think most people know Freddie. In fact, I don’t think there’s a place I’ve gone with him where he didn’t shake hands or pat the back of someone he knew.

From teaching people chess to spinning immaculate tunes, Freddie’s vast knowledge and welcoming heart have touched many people. He’s always willing to lend a hand, whether you’re an old friend or someone he just met.

But now, Freddie needs your help.

On November 22nd, our friend Freddie was attacked. He sustained a broken jaw and many other injuries.

Because Freddie’s line of work involves speaking, these injuries will have a significant effect on his ability to work. If you know Freddie (or even if you don’t!), you know that his work ethic is otherwordly.

But right now, Freddie needs rest so that he can come back and be the amazing DJ, poet, cook, bartender, and father that we all know and love.

Any funds donated will go directly to Freddie so he can stay afloat while he takes this time to heal.

Update: Freddie will be having his facial surgery tomorrow. Whatever higher power you believe in, if you could keep Freddie in your thoughts, we would appreciate it very much.

Another edit: Thank you again so much to everyone who has sent donations and words of encouragement. Freddie has had a very hard last couple of days but he is a warrior and he will come out of this stronger than ever.

Right now, the hardest part is getting nutrition. His jaw is completely wired shut and everything needs to come through a straw. Send us your best purée recipes if you have some!

In all seriousness- this is the toughest thing he has been through and your words of encouragement and kind thoughts have meant everything to Freddie and I. Seeing his community come behind him has been an immense blessing and we appreciate each and every one of you, from the bottom of our hearts.
