Fort Plain NY Skate Park

Hello everyone. My name is Ryan Santore. I am the current lead on the project to bring a new skatepark to the upstate NY skate scene. There aren't that many great skate parks in the area but there are a ton of skaters/bmx/inline skate/scooter riders. Currently in Fort Plain there are roughly 12 skate boarders. That doesn't include at all the surrounding areas. In 2021 I started the project to have a park to be built in town. To bring the community of these types of athletes together. The closest skate park is about an hr drive, maybe even further. For the youth in our area this is not always reachable. With skateboarding being so popular and this area having no outlet for the youth, not to mention there being no place for them to skate and not get in trouble, I feel this problem is an easy fix. Give the local youth a skatepark. Anyone who has been to a skatepark knows that it even brings people from all over together. So not only is it beneficial to the local area if Fort Plain, but also the surrounding areas. Let's make this dream a reality. It all starts with us.
