Foreign exchange volunteer program

This year, I have the opportunity to join Millennium High School's foreign exchange program on an eight day community service trip to Peru. On the trip, we will be participating in service projects in the village of Ollantaytambo, which will involve infrastructure work and teaching English in schools. During this time, we will learn from and work with the people living there as well as each other, and we will live in homestays with local families. The experience is language immersive and community based, with a focus on cooperation and learning.
Part of the responsibility involved in joining the program is fundraising for the trip as possible. The money I raise will go towards paying off a set fee which includes airfare and other transportation, housing, and food for the duration of the eight days. The trip begins in February, only two weeks away from my sixteenth birthday, and this trip is more meaningful to me than any party could be. It's an opportunity to expand my understanding of various cultures and to provide my help in whatever way I can while simultaneously building my collaboration skills in a completely new setting. Any amount that you can donate, however small, is greatly appreciated. I promise to share photos of the journey with you!
