Fire leaves family with devastating memories

Steven Monroe and partner Rose Mensa had saved for a family holiday to take there 3 children aged 4, 7 and 9 to there native country of Ghana to meet there grandparents for the first time,

The holiday had been planned for some time and the whole family was so excited to build memories, on the final night Rose had woken up around 1am and could smell what she thought was burning leaves she quickly realised the house was ablaze with only one way out of the property Stephen carried his beloved children through the fire to safety unfortunately the grandfather had lost his life.

Two of the children have subsequently resulted in 12% and 18% burns to the faces and mainly upper body areas

Stevens burns are unfortunately much more

As a result the family spent several weeks in Ghana hospital for 2 months before being well enough to be transported back to Chelmsford Brookfield hospital.. undergoing skin grafts for there burns.

Rose who is a nurse/ care assistant at St Elizabeth’s home and Stephen who is a Sainsburys worker are now not currently able to work and as a result of this

As a result we are trying to help this local family of Long Ley Harlow who have suffered a devastating outcome to a family dream holiday, we are trying to help the family with hospital costs help with day to day living and maybe help towards Christmas …
