Fonzie's road to play college ball

Donation protected
Fonzie has been extended the invitation by over a dozen colleges/universities to attend football prospect camps or linemen camps this summer.  He has narrowed down the camps based on whether or not the schools have the field he wants to go into...any guesses?  Anyone?  If you guessed Nursing, then you are the winner!  And yes you read that right...he wants to be an ER or labor-delivery nurse.  With that being said  he has decided on attending the following college/university camps:

University of St. Mary's in Leavenworth, KS  05.19.18

Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL  06.02.18
Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT  06.09.18
Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL  06.16.18
Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI  06.18.18
Illinois State University in Normal, IL  06.26.18
Grand View University in Des Moines, IA  06.30.18

The total cost for these camps is over $2000 - this includes the fees, equipment we don't have (shoulder pads and helmet), travel expenses, and lodging (for those schools out-of-state).  Not giving a sob story, but as most of you know I am raising him with no financial contribution from his father.  Being a single mom with only my income is NOT easy...but the thing is, is that Fonzie never asks for anything.  Never.  Maybe because he doesn't want to seem like a burden, which he is not...this kid is a solid, good kid.  And he has asked for the opportunity to attend these camps.  If you have had the opportunity to see him play football or your child has been on the battlefield with him, then you know he plays his heart out EVERY SINGLE PLAY and he is a damn good lineman.  He is a motivator and a leader.  He plays the game because he loves it, not for any other reason...not for the guts and glory or the shout outs, because linemen rarely get the credit they deserve.  Fonzie loves the sport.

Although the list of schools above is not a definitive list of where he  is considering, it is likely that he will end up attending one...especially since all (except the D1 schools for right now) have begun preliminary discussions on scholarship opportunities.  If he were offered a scholarship...oh the weight would be lifted off of both of our shoulders.  It is very humbling and even more embarrassing  to have to reach out to all of you, but please consider helping your favorite Professional Big Boy.  Those of you that have helped us in the past, thank you.  Those of you that help us now, thank you.  Fonzie and I will forever be indebted to all of you.
