Food4Heroes Midlands

Dawn Bilbrough from York, an NHS  heroine who was unable to buy food after a 48 hour shift, inspired my sister and I to set up Food4Heroes.   My sister Amanda Guest, runs Guest Dining in Huddersfield and with all restaurants and private catering having closed down due to covid-19, we discussed how we might be able to use our skills to create a nationwide charity to provide healthy and delicious food to NHS workers over the coming months of this crisis.  

We contacted the fundraising team at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary to see if this would be of benefit and our timing appeared to be just right.   Very generous local people were donating food and meals but once the lockdown came, we realised a coordinated approach was required.    

An amazing team came together very quickly alongside to help set up the model.    Our first site goes live this week and we hope to be able to roll this model out across the UK ASAP.  

Your generous donations will help to make the food either for your chosen region (as soon as we are up and running) or distributed based on demand.  

Together we can help deliver delicious  and healthy meals to every hospital in the UK and through this serve our NHS heroes.
