Food to North Bay Fire evacuees

Donation protected
Sonoma's Sunflower Caffe is on the front lines feeding first responders and families displaced by the North Bay fires. Their resources are limited and quickly running out. Your donation will support their food-giving effort, and will mean a great deal to the health and well-being of these families and first responders through this traumatic time.

Following is a log of our efforts:

Tuesday: Wanting to expand the efforts to take care of first responders and evacuees we connected with Cody Williams who was managing meal distribution.  Teamed up with Ari from Glen Ellen Star and Leslie from Pangloss Cellars to expand our effort.

Wednesday: Starting at 5am we completed 130 breakfast meals picked up by Dan Morgan to be delivered to a "strike team". By 4 pm we delivered another 200 meals to the Red Grape for distribution.

Friday: At Breakaway Cafe 6 volunteers from Pangloss cellars, 3 from my daughter Taylor, 3 cooks from BelCampo in Marin, Chef Jacob, Marte and Daniel and 5 more Breakaway staff arrived between 6-7am. We prepared 131 boxed lunches by 9am picked by the distribution team. And we delivered another 500 meals by noon.

Saturday: 200 meals of Lamb Stew and Chili....delivered to strike team in Kenwood.

Sunday: Taking orders for first responders.  For those who would like to make a non-monetary donation please consider helping with ingredients.  We are in need of breakfast food supplies, eggs, tortillas, potatoes, cheese etc.  We have a request for grab and go breakfasts for the Sonoma Valley responders. We are good with supplies until tomorrow AM but limited for any orders beyond that.

Sunday PM Update:  At this time we have all the ingredients we need! Thank you to all who passed the word and who donated!!! Please stay tuned as the needs are changing moment by moment. Any excess donations both food and money will be passed along to be used for either first responders or evacuees. Again a huge thank you!!! 200+ Monday AM breakfast orders dropped of at the Suite D distribution center for first responders.

Tuesday: Just received an order for 90 breakfast burritos and a case of apples for the Kenwood Strike Team.  We got the order at 3:30pm To be ready by 5:30pm.

Friday: The rain could not have come soon enough. It is a much anticipated explanation point on a very difficult time for all of us.  Thank you for everyone who contributed to this effort.  We are going back to business as usual while Sonoma and Napa begin the long process of recovery.  We will rise from the ashes!
