Hello!
My name is Phoebe Kernohan and I am currently a senior at Royal Oak High School. For my senior service project this year, I am fundraising money for to help the ones in need by organizing a GoFundMe for Forgotten Harvest. Forgotten Harvest is a non-profit organization who is a Food Bank that rescue surplus food from the supply chain and distributing it to people in need. As seniors, we were encouraged to choose a topic that is meaningful to us, and I decided to support the global issue of world hunger that affects millions of people, especially during this hard time. As a non-profit organization, Forgotten Harvest is making it their goal to make an impact on people’s lives. All the food they rescue and produce is delivered to metro Detroit families who are food-insecure and struggle to cover the cost of basic life necessities. Their food helps bridge the income gap for tens of thousands of people, allowing them to secure some basic life necessities for themselves and their family. All donations, including money and food, are collected and distributed to volunteer welfare organization, families in need, and soup kitchens. Any donations would help me reach my goal, which is to help the hungry and the people in need.
