We Play for Anthony Morgan

During the school year of 2013-2014 Anthony and his family began seeing a difference in Anthony. He started 6th grade at Lindenhurst Middle School. Anthony, who was always a very good student and a soccer standout, was struggling. He was having a difficult time paying attention in class and was out of sorts on the soccer field. Anthony's family took action and started testing. While waiting the three months for a neurologist appointment, Anthony began having severe headaches. When the Morgans got into see the neurologist he ordered an MRI when he realized Anthony could not walk in a straight line without losing his balance. In May Anthony has his first MRI and it revealed he had a golfball sized brain tumor along with fluid on his cerebellum. The doctors sent him immediately to Winthrop Hospital for Emergency surgery. His lack of coordination and ability to concentrate were now explained. Anthony had a successful surgery and embarked upon grueling recovery and rehabilitation that included learning how to walk again. Anthony spent the next 4 months working tirelessly at re-learning to walk, get dressed and write. All of the things we take for granted on a daily basis. He was frustrated and embarrassed but he continued to work at getting his life back. In September, Anthony had gained so much progress that he started the 7th grade at Lindy Middle School and started working out with his club soccer team on a limited basis. The future was bright! Then in October at a routine MRI, doctors made the devastating realization that the tumor had grown back. After the shocking news became reality to his family, they had to sit Anthony down and tell him that he would need to have another brain surgery. As you can imagine Anthony was shocked, angry and scared. The tumor was supposed to be gone. He battled back only to be told he would have to do it again. After lots of tears and questions, Anthony came to terms with his diagnosis and prepared for his second brain surgery.
That surgery is TODAY.
That leads us to our mission. We are asking for help supporting Anthony and his family during this insanely difficult time. Please donate to Anthony's GoFundMe account today.
As you can imagine the family and medical expenses are astronomical.
