A Marathon for Megan

Megan passed away unexpectedly in April 2022 at the age of twenty-six.

Megans loss has left a huge void in the lives of her parents Sarah and Derek, Fiancé Sean, all her family and many friends.

Megan lived with Spina-bifida and Hydrocephalus but her determination, positive attitude and beautiful smile were an inspiration to everyone who knew and loved her.

Megan attended SBHI Open Opportunity Service weekly and flourished so quickly gaining independence, happiness and a huge circle of friends. Megan embraced lots of new activities, Taekwondo being one of her proudest achievements.

Megans center's main aims are to empower all service users by providing opportunities through education, vocational training, person centered plans and individualised activities to further improve their advocacy skills, education and employment opportunities, inclusion into society and supporting their physical and mental wellbeing.

Megans Uncle Derek along with his sister Brid and friend Karl will run the Paris Marathon on April 7th, Megans 2nd Anniversary, in her memory and to raise funds to support The Open Opportunities Services.

Our family has such precious memories of a special weekend spent in Paris with Megan and as the Eiffel Tower twinkles, we know she will be right there with us.
