Disadvantaged children at Christmas
Donation protected
Hi my name is Phil from the Cambs Youth Panel.
On the 17th and 18th December 2022 we will be hosting a Christmas fair at St John's College, Cambridge.
The fair is going to be a very special event targeted towards children with SEN, SEMH needs, disabilities, young carers, foster children and children from financially under privileged circumstances.
All of the tickets to see Father Christmas will be distributed through local charities and support groups so that the families who need them the most will receive them free of charge.
There will be a fully decorated Winter Wonderland hall with Christmas trees, lights, baubles, decorations... there will be hot-chocolate and gingerbread, festive music and fun activities like a virtual reality sleigh ride for two, Christmas card making and more.
We are fund-raising here to buy toys to gift to the children who visit Father Christmas and we want to buy a gender neutral, educational toy that anyone can enjoy - so we've opted for Lego kits.
We need to raise about £1000 to ensure that every child gets a small Lego kit each as their gift. Many of the children who are visiting Father Christmas are living in food and/or fuel poverty and their parents have expressed to us how limited Christmas is going to be for them this year.
£10 will buy one toy. Give only what you can afford. Be reassured that what you do give will be delivered and it will make a difference.
If we raise above the costs of delivering the event, we will give every surplus penny to the Cambridge Children's Hospital and to the Rosie Maternity Ward at Addenbrookes hospital.
Thank you for visiting and we wish you all a very happy and joyful Christmas.
Lots of love
