"For this child I prayed, and the Lord answered my prayer" 1 Samuel 1:27
We have been married for fourteen years and always thought we would have a family. While sometimes waiting has been hard, we learned to trust God's timing and enjoy his blessings during the wait. We have been blessed to help lead the college group at our church, and have used that time to mentor and build into the lives of several young men and women, many of whom have come to be like family. However, we still have not been able to have a child to call our own.
We have talked about the possibility of adoption off and on through the years, but we have never heard God's clear direction, so we waited. In November 2017 we were apparoached by a young woman who is pregnant, she had made the difficult decision to give her baby up for adoption. However, she didn't want to leave the baby to a fate of uncertainty and never knowing if they were happy, well cared for, and in a loving, christian home. She asked us if we would want to adopt her child. What she didn't know is that a couple weeks before she approached us I had an emotional heart to heart with God, asking Him if He wanted us to be parents. This was a clear answer to prayer, for all of us.
While we are beyong thrilled for this blessing God has placed in our lives as a direct answer to prayer, we were not expecting the expense of adoption. Even though direct adoption is considerably less than adopting through an agency, it's still expensive with fewer options for grants and other assistance, as I've discovered through much research. So we are asking for you to help us bring home our missing piece. Our baby girl is due on June 12th, and there is a lot to do before she comes.... from finishing the nursery, to training and preparing the dog, to home studies and legal paperwork. We are asking for your help! We need lots of prayer, friendship, and financial support. We want to do a fundraiser with meaning, so we have purchased a collection of Thomas Kinkaid Disney Puzzles we want to hang in the nursery. We would like to ask you to sponsor a puzzle piece! For every puzzle piece you sponsor we will write your name, or your families name, on the back so we can tell our daugheter about all the people who loved her enough to help us bring her home! We are asking for $10/puzzle piece. There is no limit on how many pieces you can sponsor, but anything you can contribute would be a huge blessing to us. The money will be used for the lawyer fees, home study, post-placement visits, and court costs.
We have 8 different puzzles, you can choose which puzzle you'd like your name on:
- Winnie the Pooh
-Beauty and the Beast
-Princess and the Frog
-The Jungle Book
-The Lion King
-The Little Mermaid.
Thank you for listening to our story!
