Flanagan Family House Fire Relief

On behalf of the Mendon community, the Board of Selectman in cooperation with the Police and Fire Chief is pleased to start up this page for those who would like to support the Flanagan family as they recover from a devastating house fire. Late last night, Mendon residents Deborah and Kevin Flanagan and their four young children lost their home and everything in it after detecting flames outside of their second story window. The home had been under renovation for over a year and according to Deborah and Kevin, it was a true labor of love. Just months before completion and nearly a week before Christmas, a fire started in the addition portion of the house and spread to where the family was sleeping. While the town of Mendon and extended family are immensely grateful that the Flanagan parents, children (ages 1 to 10) and dog made it out unharmed, there is certainly damage to be recovered. Even though so much of what was lost cannot be replaced, the funds from this page will go directly to Deborah and Kevin to help with the following:

 

-Replenishing Christmas gifts for the Flanagan children (short-term)

-Immediate rental or hotel arrangements

-Basic food and grocery items, dog food, bedding

-New wardrobes for the whole family (and diapers for their 1 yr. old)

-Temporary housing needs and other living arrangements over the coming year as they re-build their home

 

Again, the Town of Mendon representatives and family of Deborah and Kevin appreciate any contribution to help this family as they get back on their feet. The Board of Selectman in cooperation with the Police and Fire Chief are honored to help drive this fundraising effort.
