Ryan and Rachel Fight ALS
Just a few days after their fairytale wedding, Ryan started showing early signs of muscle and nerve problems--automatic muscle twitching (fasciculations), weakness and muscle wasting.
He was lucky to be seen quickly by a pediatric neurologist who referred him to a neurologist at the University of Utah.
After initial testing, Ryan was misdiagnosed as having MMN, a treatable disease. But after a few months of treatments, his symptoms were still getting worse.
He went back in for more testing and was told the original diagnosis was wrong.
We were given the devastating news that he has ALS.
