Jayden’s Recovery

Donation protected
Jayden’s battle began when he was a baby. Although Scoliosis wasn’t clearly diagnosed until 3yrs ago after taking, countless doctors appointments, specialist visits and out of town appointments his single mum of 4 children (that’s right 4 children) has had to sacrifice countless jobs which has put a financial strain on being able to cater to his recovery needs.

Jayden urgently needs your help! We are seeking financial support for Jayden to undergo high risk spinal surgery for his scoliosis which has curved his spine to a 73 degree angle leaving part of his rib cage Up on his shoulder blade (read that again)...

The surgery itself consists of them breaking his back (yes! Breaking it) and putting it back together with screws not to mention this is completed all while he is ....upside down! Jayden also has a Benin Tumour in his brain the size of a golf ball which will have to be closely monitored.

Jayden also has Tracheomalacia which is a condition or incident where the cartilage that keeps the airway (trachea) open is soft such that the trachea partly collapses especially during increased airflow. The usual symptom is stridor when a person breathes out. This is usually known as a collapsed windpipe. Also another risk factor for the surgery.

His rehabilitation will take up to a year to recover, which will mean a loss of being able to go to school so he will need financial aid for a Tutor as well.

Before you ask - no Centrelink won’t assist with Disabilities Payments or Carers Payments or even Sickness Allowance payments and NDIS has been an ongoing process since last year. ‍♀️

We understand these are hard times for all, but the doctors have finally set a timeframe being January 2021 to have his surgery and advised it could be as quick as a two week notice and to start putting recovery options in place.

His bed will cost $9530 as will require a specific therapeutic bed (see photos). We have set a goal of $20k due to FB taking a cut of proceeds for this fundraiser and the rest would be used towards other main recover items such as walking aids, shower chairs, medication etc.

Anything anyone can donate physically would be helpful also? If you are a teacher and can offer free tutoring time? Even via Zoom? Pamper packs for mum? Useful information or direction?

Although our boy fully understands what is going to happen, the after affects and the risks- he continues to smile and light up our lives daily with his humour, warmth and unconditional love!

Please help this single mum ease the burden and financial Stressors who is being the family rock. Sometimes we all need a little help. We appreciate anything anyone can give.
