Kelly VanLaanen was my first friend in this world. She is kind and generous, and in order to make a difference in this crazy time, she is not only making medical masks, but also teaching others. This is from Kelly...
"We started making masks for elderly or immune compromised people yesterday. WE HAD NO IDEA the demand there would be. Since then I’ve taught 3 teens how to sew and we have orders for over 200 masks. In addition, we have just been contacted by 3 health care workers. Our local hospital is out of masks as is another nearby clinic...."
Kelly shared many of the supplies/equipment that her team could use, but what they could use immediately is financial donations.
Our goal is $500, and I will match up to $250. MAKE ME PAY! And let's surpass that goal...

"WE NEED:
-❤️We could really use a couple more sewing machines, the 2 we are using are buzzing full time. Does anyone have one they don’t use right now?
-❤️Also, we have been to the fabric store twice today. If you have any thread, fabric (flannel or tight woven cotton) or thin elastic you can spare we would really appreciate it. I AM NOT KIDDING WHEN I TELL YOU MY KIDS HAVE BEEN CUTTING APART THE SHEETS FROM OUR HOUSE.
-❤️ If you want to sew masks for yourself or your community please see the link below. Make sure you ask your local healthcare facility if they accept hand sewn masks before you drop them off.
-❤️ If you want to make masks and add them to ours we will drop them off for you. For healthcare facilities they need to be pre-washed in HOT water and detergent.
-❤️ If you are local and want a sewing lesson, let me know! I’m happy to put you or your kids to work.
-❤️ If you want to donate financially we will keep on sewing until there isn’t a need anymore.
