Support for Catherine while she kicks cancers butt
On February 5, 2021 Catherine and her family got the worst news of their lives; Catherine was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer which has spread to some of her lymph nodes. This has been devastating to Catherine, her four beautiful sons, and the people who know and love her so much. She has discussed a treatment plan with her oncologist which involves 16 weeks (8 rounds) of chemotherapy, followed by mastectomy surgery and then radiation. She is anxious to get treatment started and may start chemo as early as next week. Catherine, being the girl we know and love, is ready to do whatever it takes to kick cancer in the butt!
While Catherine is undergoing treatment, she has had to leave work which presents many financial hardships. She has a mortgage, bills to pay, and mouths to feed, in addition to costs associated with treatment (drugs that are not covered, transportation, etc). It is extremely difficult to make ends meet with only short term disability payments (70% of her wage) and currently she has no payments coming in. I am asking for donations to help offset these costs, we don’t want Catherine to worry about money while she is fighting for her life.
To those of you who don’t know Catherine, she’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. If you’re hungry, you have a place at her table. She’s a devoted mother, friend, and neighbour, often hosting barbecue’s in her backyard. I am proud to call Catherine my friend, she is one of the most brave and strong women I know.
