The importance of Shreveport's LGBTQ history is that it helps to understand the struggles the LGBTQ community has faced in the past. It also helps to educate people on the contributions that LGBTQ people have made to Shreveport's LGBTQ history. This film will be a very important project because it will document the progress the LGBTQ community has made in recent years. The plan is to interview LGBT historical figures and current-day activists in the Northwest Louisiana area. We have a treasure trove of historical documents and individuals who played a vital role in the development of LGBTQ history. The finished project will be a 90-minute feature film with a projected completion date of August 1, 2023.
PACE is a nonpartisan organization that works to advance equality in Northwest Louisiana so that the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community can lead open, honest, responsible, and safe lives at home and in the workplace.
