Fight LGBTQIA2S hatred in KAMLOOPS

Hi there, my name is Scarlett.

I am asking the NON LGBTQIA2S+ community to help me cover the cost of repairing my second smashed window.

About two and a half years ago I started my transition to female from male, I now live full time as a female and thankfully can pass ( go stealth) in most cases.

I got comfortable with who I am about 6 months ago and got some Pride stickers for my car....

In the last six months: My first Pride sticker got keyed the first week I had it on my car, my mirrors would randomly be pushed in when I returned to my car, my door handle has been marked up, doors and side panels keyed or clear footprints on my car in the dirt....

That's fine, the world isn't the nicest place.

But to be smashing windows that have Pride symbolism on them a second time out front my home is harassment. It is an outright attack on the way I am choosing to live my life…

They put the effort into scooping the Pride stickers off the left side and stomping on them...

I am a single mother of a soon to be 16 year old teen, I get no support from his mother.....It's me and just me and I don't need to tell you how hard it is out there to survive.

I'm asking that the cost of the repair, rental truck, stickers and a dash cam that I will install myself be covered. I want to get a dash cam to try and catch this/ these people. I fear it will get much worse before it get's better.

I work in Trans Health Care now and reports from other providers across the country are grim to say the least.

Hate mail/ emails, death threats, smashed property, probing phone calls.... We're being targeted for providing life-saving health care in an attempt to bring even more fear to those providing it. Recruiting more care providers is hard enough as it is but to think your going to be putting a target on your LIFE is crazy.

I'm asking the NON LGBTQIA2S+ community members to cover these costs to try and help send a message to those that did this, that their hate is NOT welcome in Kamloops!

I will be making a stickering event most likely at the end of April to get as many people as possible to come sticker their own things with whatever stickers they have.
