Fight for Chester

Becca and Jason’s sweet and adorable dog Chester is currently fighting for his life. My sister and brother-in-law are fantastic dog parents. They take Chester with them everywhere they go and you would be hard pressed to find a happier dog. He is less than two years old and a great joy to them and the rest of our family. We want to do everything in our power to save him, but his treatment is going to be very expensive.

Chester presented with a rare but extreme condition called Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anemia over the weekend. IMHA comes on suddenly and rapidly; he went from hiking four miles one day to hospitalized the next day. He is battling severe anemia and potentially severely low platelet counts. This is an extreme condition, but there are some aggressive therapies that may improve prognosis if attempted within the first few days.
