Joes Fight against colitis

Ulcerative colitis effects 200,000 thousand people a year. It causes severe inflammation of the digestive tract and is a daily challenge in many ways. Some of those challenges effect your everyday lifestyle with symptoms like chronic abdominal pain,diarrhea often with blood and mucus,urgent bowel movements, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, low energy, fatigue, fevers and inflammation in joints. 
   My brother Joe was first diagnosed with UC in 6th grade when he became critically ill.  He was hospitalized for 4 months and during this time underwent many  medical treatments and recieved multiple blood transfusions. Over the last 18 years Joe  has had many struggles with long hospital stays and  frequent visits to the specialist.  
  Last year Joe decided to leave his physically demanding job to persue his dream of becoming a respiratory therapist.  He is currently attending college  to become certified so that he can treat people at hospitals and perform in house service care for patients in need . Joe was on track  to graduate in 2019.  Unfortunately his most recent flare up has hospitalized him yet again. This time being the most devastating of all. He has been unable to attend school, has lost his job, lost his medical insurance and has been  forced to make major medical decisions. Surgery to remove his colon has been strongly recommended by his medical team.
As you can imagine, with no insurance and no income this burden for Joey has become overwhelming. He has fallen behind on all of his obligations and needs help.  
   To see Joe going through this struggle is difficult but he is staying strong and postive. The care hes going to need in the next 2 monthes is critical to him becoming healthy and getting back to work and on his feet.
