It’s not often I have to reach out to our lovely clients for help but on this occasion I really do need you……….. keep reading, despite all the sadness this mail brings it also brings fun, team bonding and brings local business’s together.

Over the past couple of months I have been following the storey of a brave 2yr old little girl called Amelia ( From Ipswich) , a storey that hit my heart and I just can’t turn my back.

Amelia was diagnosed in November with a Wilms Cancer tumour on her kidney, just heart breaking- How can life be so cruel.

Amelia is on a journey, Amelia’s parents and two sibling are on a journey- A very long journey.

Amelia has had rounds of Chemo prior to her operation which was in Jan of this year, she had an operation to remove the tumour as well as her kidney. I share with you the below latest blog from her parents ‘Amelia’s Ray of Sunshine’ page, this was received on Wednesday following their trip to Addenbrooks to receive the results from the biopsy. ( Amelia’s parents have given me permission to share the content with you all and pictures).

‘So today we had the huge meeting we have been waiting weeks for. Finally a diagnosis and a plan moving forward. I done my research beforehand, prepared questions and ensured my knowledge of every aspect of the conversation was there. I literally could write an essay on this bloody tumour
So... a wilms tumour with mixed histology (this means what type of cells the tumour is made up of which would also then determine the risk). Intermediate risk due to mixed histology and stage 3. Stage 3 due to the tumour had ruptured. Also it had spread to the renal vein where another tumour had developed. So with all this the decision was made to go ahead with radiotherapy. 10 sessions of radiotherapy needed over 2 weeks. Amelia will need a general anaesthetic for every single session.
The radiotherapy will focus on her whole abdomen due to the rupture and to ensure they treat exactly any places it could have leaked. So due to the extensive area of where the radiotherapy will be focused it is extremely likely Amelia will be left infertile. Addenbrookes have arranged for Amelia to have another operation in a couple of weeks to take some of one of her ovaries to preserve this which will go to oxford to be frozen for when she is older. Literally so much information to take in today.
After radiotherapy Amelia will need another 27 weeks of chemotherapy which will consist of 2 drugs.
Starting today on week 1 of the 27 weeks. I'm literally counting down the days!
For now..... a present from the bravery bag ’

How can we help!?

Amelia’s parents are both working parents with 2 other children to look after too, they have had to give up their dream jobs to care for Amelia’s round the clock care plan, help her through the next 27 weeks of the gruelling Chemotherapy.

Financially they are entitled to no help, not even with their rent! How does a family going through such a situation cope in matters like this, the added strain of money worries on top of everything else. This is where we step in…….

I have come up with 3 ways in which we can help Amelia and her family- My aim is to raise a minimum of 10k ( That’s the goal ) to give to the family, to see them through the next 6 months at least- Cover their bills, feed their bellies and more importantly take every strain of financially difficultly away from them so they can concentrate on Amelia and her siblings.

Option 1- Battle of the Business’s – Challenge Team Hudson- Yes it is back!

I need 25 teams to come forward as a business, teams of 6 individuals
Battle through the climbing/ assault course challenge at Clip & Climb Ipswich in an ultimate battle to get round the course in the fastest time possible as well as collecting an amount of team ‘Stars’ along the way! There will be a prize for the winning team! #challengeteamhudson
£120.00 Entry Fee
Must raise a minimum of £300.00 per time, this can be done internally within your business, cake sales, sponsored events- I can help with this if you need ideas etc.
The team that raises the most money will then receive dinner for their team at a local restaurant.
Press coverage
Radio coverage
The date of this is TBC but I am looking at March and this would be on a Saturday or Sunday- I will confirm this within the next week. At this stage I need 25 to come forward as it will be a first come first serve.

Option 2- Donate direct

For business that do not want to take part in the above but would still like to donate I have set up a go fund me page if you would like to make a donation, however small- It all counts. Please ensure you note your company name as again we can ensure personal thanks is sent on via the papers and radio channels.
If you would rather sponsor #teamhudson in the above challenge and make a donation that way just let me know and I can arrange this for you- I will simply invoice you for the amount you would like to donate and we can collect it that way for you. We can then of course add this to the social channels as well as our clothing on the day.

Option 3- A Gift for Amelia’s Bravery Bag

As Amelia has and is undergoing so many different procedures, her parents decided to create a ‘Bravery Bag’ for her. This is basically a sack of little gifts that each time she has gone through a procedure she can choose an item from the bag.
If you would like to donate a little prezzie to her Bravery Bag these would be much appreciate too, with 27 weeks of treatments planned just at this stage it would be lovely to keep her spirits up.
Donations can be sent to me directly to our address in Needham Marker or I can of course collect these from you. These can be wrapped or un wrapped and I can then of course wrap any that need to be etc. Please can we request no food/ sweets as Amelia’s diet and food intake has to be carefully monitored now to ensure she gets no infections

I know this is a really long read and I really prey you are still readying it. I just could not sit back and do nothing. We cant help the bad cards we get dealt in life but we can help the people who get those bad cards, Its about coming together – A local little girl that needs our help.
