Alice Sloman died aged 14 on 19th October 2018 following a MRI investigation in which she had multiple heart attacks and multiple organ failure.  She was fit and well before the procedure. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10218504563538588&id=1030148300&sfnsn=scwspmo&extid=nSYiHxlpb72xaZFR Imagine for a moment you have taken your child for a routine test and are told an hour later that child was going to die. The inquest into her death revealed that there were huge failures in her health care for over 7 years at Torbay Hospital. Where her parents had asked for genetic testing to be performed on Alice, but their pleas went unnoticed.  Following death Alice's postmortem revealed she did in fact have a rare genetic disorder Mitochondrial Disease.  If found in life this disease could have been managed and she would never have been on Growth Hormone, which exasperated an already (but again un-diagnosed) cardiomyopathy She never woke from anesthetic Despite her Parents overwhelming grief they have campaigned tirelessly over the last year to ensure this never happens to another family by meeting privately with the Prime Minister and also with a organised visit to the Houses of Parliament.   Nathan and Sarah have had to endure  the most deepest of personal loss and have had to be strong for their 3 children Jake, Amber and Romeo, who have all suffered mentally with PTSD, separation anxiety as well as dealing with the tragedy of their sister's death.  This entire family have showed nothing short of determination over the last year both personally and for the benefit of others but now they need your help If losing a child is bad enough, the financial pressure during this last year has been immense with a mountain of bills and the risk of losing their home. Their legal battle in getting justice for their beloved daughter has put an exceptional financial burden on them, which is overshadowing this Christmas time.  They may still have another few years court battles ahead of them. With Christmas around the corner they could do with some festive spirit. Alice was their Christmas spirit all through her life. She loved Christmas so much she would be the one to indulge everyone in Christmas sparkle, as she was Christmas Spirit personified. Alice's excitement transcended to everyone around her. Spending another Christmas without her just seems so bleak So we are asking for you help With huge legal costs this family will be having yet another sad, bleak Christmas without Alice.  https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10218504504257106&id=1030148300&sfnsn=scwspmo&extid=68TA08OKBf5hWTmy We are asking for a donation to spread a little Christmas Cheer in their house so that the adorable children of their family have a Christmas they deserve following what can only be described as a grueling tragic year. Now the inquest is over and they can hopefully start rebuilding a life, we ask for a donation to allow Romeo age 7 and Amber age 13 as well as Jake, Mum Sarah and Dad Nathan, to have a stress free Christmas that shows how much they are supported and thanked for their contribution to all other children as well as the local charities they have helped as well as the Lily foundation in their fundraising as part  of Alice's Army I hope you can help to contribute and allow this family to grieve quietly by helping to relieve their financial problem and let them have a festive Christmas
