FHGC Captains Charity 2022

I have chosen ‘SpecialEffect’ as my charity for 2022 because I was inspired by a good friend of mine, Brendon Cross, to do so. He was awarded a British Empire Medal for his tireless and inspirational support for this charity. Brendon has his own set of physical challenges, but he does not let that stop him…ever! He introduced me to ‘SpecialEffect’ which is a local Oxfordshire based charity that, put simply, helps put smiles on the faces of those individuals, particularly children, who through illness or injury, have substantial physical hurdles to overcome. They help them enjoy life more and communicate with others. Things that we, as members of FHGC, may take for granted sometimes.

In 2022, I want to encourage my friends, family and all members of FHGC to have a ‘special effect’ on those less fortunate than themselves and help us to create even more smiles this year.

Using technology ranging from modified controllers to eye-control, we find a way for people of all ages to play to the best of their abilities.
