Martin's Family Left Behind

Donation protected
Martin is gone, let’s help his family.

A few weeks ago a very special soul was taken away from us tragically and suddenly, leaving behind a wife and 3 young children (12, 7 and 4).

Martin was a young man of only 36 years old when God chose him to make the ultimate sacrifice. As a truly sincere person who dedicated his life to helping the people around him, it was only appropriate that Martin was able to help so many others in his death. I personally as well as most others in the neighborhood have benefited from his kindness and generosity. Countless times while driving to work early in the morning, I would see his car pulled over to the side of the road, flashers on. As I would slow down to say hello and offer my assistance, I would realize Martin had stopped and was being of assistance to another stranded vehicle . He saw his mechanical ability as a God-given talent that obliged him to help others not to as fortunate. To stop and help another in need was his duty, and one never to be taken lightly. The funny thing was that he himself drove a clunkering noisy diesel always breaking down, and was going to get hell for showing up late to one of the 3 jobs that he held down and was on his way to, But he always stopped no matter what,

Last Thursday, September 17, 2015 Martin suffered an aneurism from which he would never recover. He was being supported by a respirator and his brain had ceased to function. His family had to decide what to do. They knew Martin, a big strong giant of a man, would never agree to be kept on life support with no cognitive function while his body slowly withered away.  They had to unplug him but not before they could figure out how he can help the most people possible. It took a few days but by the time he passed away Yom Kippur night he had managed to save 5 lives with the organs he donated. (or 4 lives saved and 1 blind person given vision). What an appropriate ending to such a beautiful person.

Martin was the sole bread earner in his home.

Let’s make sure Martin’s Family can continue to have their basic needs met and not have to focus on financial struggle during such a difficult time.
