High Tech High Chula Vista: Diversity Night

Hello, my name is Natalia Nava, and I am from San Diego, California. I participated in Friends Forever International's Nationwide Immersion program in July 2022. While High Tech High Chula Vista (HTHCV) is a very diverse school, there is still racial prejudice and not enough embracing of ethnic cultures/identities. I am going to create a festival that is completely student-led and organized to highlight and recognize the beautiful cultures that make up High Tech High Chula Vista's student body and faculty. This Diversity Night will take place on March 16th, with planning to start in January at the beginning of my 2nd semester of senior year. Not only will this be my Social Action Project done as part of the FFI Alumni Movement, but will also be my Senior Project for school. I will be using the money raised here to fund the booths for the festival, and the materials each booth will need to purchase. I will also use the money to hire local performers/entertainers for the event. Finally, although this is a charity through FFI, 100% of the proceeds will go directly to my home community and FFI only facilitates the funding process.
