One of our own VNA colleagues is facing an urgent and dire situation.
She is a single mother of three small children who has faced many challenges in her life – among them being in foster care and becoming a teen mother. When the VNA office relocated she decided to relocate and was staying with family until she could get a place of her own. Unfortunately this has not worked out due to domestic violence in their homes and their own financial difficulties. She is now facing being homeless and going to shelter.
In her own words she says:
“These past 6 months have been extremely difficult and I just don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to let my little ones down nor have to lose my job over my situation. I have been trying to keep my head up for so long for the sake of my babies and I have reached the point of giving up and just going to a shelter. I appreciate the VNA for giving me hope to continue to push forward and for allowing me to believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you so much.”
