Help Feed Bulawayo

Donation protected
Hello everyone!

My name is Nandipa Siluma. I am a freshman at Northwestern University. I am from Bulawayo in Zimbabwe. I have started this campaign to raise funds to provide food to families in Bulawayo who have been affected by the lock-down put in place to combat the spread of COVID-19. I am representing a non-profit organization called Feed The City whose primary objective is to reduce hunger challenges by providing food to vulnerable communities such as orphan cares, shelters and squatter camps.

With the lock-down in place, the number of people faced with food shortages has increased. Statistics approximate that, 1 in every 4 families does not know where their next meal is coming from. A greater percentage of Zimbabweans are employed in the informal sector. They survive on a hand-to-mouth basis, meaning the food they consume comes from a day’s work. Now that people are required to stay indoors and not go to work, hundreds of families are left susceptible to hunger. It is indeed a sad situation that requires immediate action.

Thus, I have started this campaign to raise funds to supply more meals. Our aim is to raise $1500 by April 30.

This is a time when communities need to stand together against the effects of this global pandemic. We appeal to every person to donate towards this cause.

Remember, no amount is too small for a donation. Every dollar will make a difference. I greatly appreciate your support!
