My family have a very strong connection with Ranchi in India. It is where my wife grew up. A number of the alumni of the school she went to have set up charities, Team Help Ranchi and Team Green to help individuals affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
There are currently raising funds for a vehicle to transport deceased victims of Covid-19 to places where they can be safely cremated in the presence of their loved ones. Unfortunately in the middle of this pandemic, for many families, finding and affording transport to get loved ones to a place where they can perform their last rites has become very difficult. This has led to the tragic scenes that many of us outside of India, have seen reported in the media, on bodies of loved ones being disposed of in rivers.
Team Help Ranchi and Team Green are very enthusiastic set of volunteers in their early 20s. They have seen the impact of the pandemic in Ranchi and have felt moved to ease the suffering of their fellow citizens. They have set up a fund raising page

Unfortunately it is not able to accept donations from NRIs and other concerned individuals from outside India which it will need assistance from to reach the fund raising target in the next 40 days. The victims of the pandemic and their families, deserve human kindness at one of the lowest and most vulnerable and so my wife and I have volunteered to help in the fundraising effort from outside India.

Thank you for your donation that will help these individuals to support those who need assistance at the lowest point in their lives, in a part of the world that is suffering terribly at the hands of this pandemic and with which my wife and I have a deep and loving connection.
Finally the little girl in the profile picture is my daughter, who was adopted from a place 20 miles from Ranchi. My wife and I received much kindness and love from the people of Ranchi in this process. This is our way of giving back.
